HDR (High Dynamic Range) Photography

When I first started looking at HDR Photography I thought that the pictures looked like video games still shots. Much controversies come into effect with this type of photography, some people love it and other people just simply hate it. I personally dont love it or hate it, but I feel that a photoagrapher should not over do it at all. The still love video games shots look really stupid to me but if you dont over do it some pictures turn out really good.
Another thing I noticed is that most of the pictures that are used for HRD are pictures taken in other countries.

I found this picture on a mans blog who likes working around with HDR and I find this picture to be really amazing! I personally love bright pictures and I think this fits the bill.

This is another picture I found that I dont like at all the photographer went to over the top and made it look too cartoonish and too videogameish. I think if this picture looked more real it would be 10 times better.

Photo Critique 2

The first thing I say to this picture is what is the point of this picture. This picture should have a lot more bright colors and maybe a certain focal point. I feel that the whole bottom of the picture is totally pointless and not needed.

The mountains have a lot to texture and color to them so I feel that needs to be brought out a lot and I really like how they have all the mountain ranges in the background and some of the mountaintops going into the clouds.

Photo Critique 1

    First thing I thought of was this is not a unique picture, I have seen a lot of pictures like this with rainbows but I must say it is nice. This picture is really dark though and feel that it could use light. I really notice how the rainbow reflects onto the top of the rocks which I don’t know is a good thing or a bad thing but I’m not really like it cause it makes the rainbow look brighter then what it is. I like how the end of the rainbow is brighter then the rest of it and wish that the whole rainbow were that bright.

    One thing I think that would really help this picture is the de-centered horizon line, if it was either centered or blended better with the ocean, it would be 100 times better. Another thing that would be better, if possible, is have the photographer back up and either get more the cliff or ocean and bring the main focus which is the rainbow to either more of right picture or left picture.

    All in all this is a good picture that to me needs some improvement to become a great unique picture.
